Part I --There is a longstanding belief that war can stimulate economic growth. In fact, many actually believe that it was all of the weapon production for World War II that got the United States out of the Great Depression. While this is a common belief, there is one problem: how can building stuff to break it in war generate more wealth for a country?

Part 2--Discuss substantive ways in which armed conflict can contribute to or distract a developing economy and infrastructure. In what ways may the rulers or a group within a developing country benefit from armed conflict at the expense of the general population?
