Part A-
Select either the company Amazon, Google, or Tesla and research it until you find and learn about an opportunity or problem related to it. Focusing on this specific opportunity or problem, you will develop a proposed contract, procurement plan, and risk management plan.
- Develop a problem statement and an RFP.
- Write a proposal, including the bid/no bid analysis.
- List the required resources in a resource matrix.
- Also include a review of the identifiable risks.
As always, content must be formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Include a title and reference pages. "Outside sources" refers to academic, research, and scholarly sources from the CSU-Global Library, other than the textbook, course materials, or other information provided as part of the course materials.
Part B - Problem Statement
The problem with Amazon and the whole shipping debate is always heated. Customers who use prime are guaranteed their items within two days. Some customers can't afford prime so they have to settle for certain day and certain prices for items to be delivered. Some merchants may limit how far they will ship some items - large-screen televisions, for example - with the two-day guarantee under Prime. If a Prime customer is outside that region, shipping may take longer. An initial thought would be to look at shipping by region in which Amazon tested this out late last year. One of the things Amazon has done for these types of problems is to offer credit back to the customer for standard shipping. Sometimes this is valuable to the customer and sometimes it's not because the credit depends on the value of the item being shipped. So Amazon is looking into way to fix or help these problems by offering such things as these. If they can't promise the two day shipping they are advertising and that the customer is paying for then they need to find a way to alert the customer and or don't place that item in the prime category.
