Part 1
Search for a current (no more than two months old) news story (article, other piece of writing, or video clip) that demonstrates a moral or ethical dilemma. Explain the ethical dilemma in your own words and explain whether or not the story relates to an ethical theory or code identified in the text.
Your post should include a link to the news story or event (article, other piece of writing, or video clip). In addition to sharing the link, you need to show a clear connection between the news story/event and the module material in a post of at least 150 words.
Part 2
The Stanley Milgram and Philip Zimbardo experiments are some of the most famous in social psychology. Watch the following videos on each experiment, noting what you learn about human nature and ethical behavior.
In a short paper of around 400-500 words, do the following:
Briefly summarize either the Stanford Prison or the Milgram experiment.
Explain what one of these famous experiments tells us about human nature. Why is the experiment relevant to an ethics course?
Part 3
The Checkup
An airline pilot goes to his regular medical checkup. The doctor discovers that he has developed a heart murmur. The pilot only has a month to go before he is eligible for retirement. The doctor knows this and wonders whether, under these unusual circumstances, she is justified in withholding the information about the pilot's condition until he can retire. If doctor releases the information now, he wouldn't get any retirement benefits. What should the doctor do?
