Beyonce Knowles Carter is one of the best entertainers in the world. I am pretty sure that her name is trademarked because of the success that she has had over the past 15 years. Beyonce and her Husband Jay Z now have three children (5 years old) Blue Ivy and Twins Rumi and Sir. Of course Beyonce and Jayz are going to give their children names that no one else in the world would have. The name Blue Ivy is very unusual but will be a name the world will know for years to come. Beyonce wants Blue Ivy to be a business owner when she grows up so she has started her own fragrance line and clothing line. The only thing stopping Blue Ivy from becoming her own brand, is trademarking her name. There is an Event Planner company owned by Veronica Morales whom is fighting against Beyonce for wanting to trademark Blue Ivy's name is 2017. This issue has been dealt with in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Morale's company B&J came about 3 years before Blue ivy was born but Morale's only brought the name to light because of who Beyonce is. Use of a trade name without the registered owner's permission is infringement. The owner of the trade name can seek injunctive relief to stop the use of the trade name (Jennings, 2018). Beyonce is a bigger figure than Veronica Morale's and because of that she will most likely win the battle of trademarking her daughter's name.
