Think about a time in which you worked or interacted with people who were different from you in terms of education, ethnicity, experience, age, gender, background, skill level, job experience, etc. This could be at school, in sports or other extracurricular activities, as a volunteer, or on the job. Answer the following questions about your experience:

What type of team or group was it and what was its purpose? What conflicts, if any, did you witness with this team/group?

What worked well with the team/group?

Did you discover any personal biases you may have had when the group was formed? If so, what were they?

What did you learn about the importance of inclusion in this experience?

Did participation with this team change your definition of diversity?

How did this experience influence your current opinion about working on a team?
