Part 1:
* Reflect on a time when a change was occurring in your profesional life. Are you typically a "change agent" or one who resists change? Explain.
* How does change make you feel? How could you develop or strengthen the "change agent" skills?
* What did you notice from your coworkers when a change was occurring? What motivating and restraining forces were evident?

Part 2:
Select a topic related to communication through the use of technology (blending Chapters 14 and 16 of Blais & Hayes). Some examples of an appropriate topic might be EHR, telehealth, patient portals, health apps, cloud-based services, etc.

In your post, place a link to a website that features this particular type of technology to share with your peers and then answer the following questions:
* What are the pros and cons of this particular technology?
* What type of communication does it facilitate (as in who is the sender and receiver)?

Part 3:
Has technology (specifically the use of the electronic health record) changed the way we communicate with our patients for the better or for the worse? Explain your answer using an example from practice. Include the therapeutic communication techniques that you''ve seen used as listed in Table 14-1. Also, discuss the effective non-verbal techniques you''ve seen used from the list on p. 272.
