Over the last three decades, dramatic changes have occurred in the fire environment. Some of these changes include, but are not limited to, larger homes on smaller lots, light weight construction and increased synthetic furnishings.

Fire research has shown us that much of what we were taught about fire dynamics has been significantly altered by these changes and that some of what we were taught about fire attack tactics is no longer appropriate or safe. Simply put, the "Traditional" ways we have been fighting fires does not keep pace with today's fire dynamics.

For this assignment, you are to research and discuss the following aspects of firefighting as it relates to the fire dynamics of today. You will have no problem finding all the information you will need to answer these questions.

1. Discuss how fire dynamics have changed over the past 30 - 40 years.

2. How is the fire service adapting their firefighting tactics to combat these changes?

In your essay, you can discuss the points you think are most important.

You can then click on each link in the box and type in your search words. You will then be able to scroll trough the available articles to determine which are best for the topic.

Your paper must be a minimum of 3 full APA formatted pages not counting the title page, abstract page and reference page and must use a minimum of 3 academically recognized sources.
