After completing the section on emotional intelligence in the self-assessmentin Appendix A, complete the following:

1. Describe a situation in which your strengths in dealing with your ownfeelings helped you achieve some objective or goal. What lessons did youlearn from this experience?

2. Describe a situation in which your weaknesses in dealing with your ownfeelings hurt you or another person. If you could re-enact the situation,what would you do differently now?

3. Think of a time that you asserted your own ideas or rights or did not assertthem and the outcome was not to your liking. What should you have saidor done that would have brought about a better outcome?
