Once again, you will view a TED Talk video that is directly related to the course content this week and then reflect on what you have learned in a graded blog activity. This introductory activity helps learners to think about and explore the meaningfulness of the course content covered in the module.

By successfully completing this reflection activity, learners demonstrate Module Outcome 1: Examine and explain the major causes of death, and Module Outcome 4: Discuss the reasons it is important to educate people about death and dying.

• In thinking about your own life and what you have learned about developmental psychology, how long do you expect to live? Why?
• What are some of the major causes of death you feel you might have the highest likelihood of experiencing? Using theory and knowledge you have learned in this course, explain your answer.
• Why do so many people in the United States feel reluctant to think and talk about death? Why do people in other cultures feel less reluctant?
• Explain why it is important to educate people about death and dying.
