Olivia is planning a trip to the beach. She can rent a car for the trip at a coat of $300 or she can take her 1985 Honda Accord. The Honda has a 10% chance of breaking down, in which caseOlivia expects $1400 of repair work (Destin Florida prices) and she would miss two days of work, at a cost of $250. Otherwise, as far as gasoline and such, both options cost the same. Draw a decision diagram and determine what Olivia should do?

NASA is planning a robotic mission to Titan, a moon of Saturn. They expect to collect scientific data worth $5 billion. There is only one opportunity every 30 years to launch the mission, due to the alignment of the planets. Building and launching a Titan exploration rover (robot) will cost $1.5 billion.   There is a 60% chance that the rover will work when it lands. NASA could spend an extra $1.5 billion and lauch two rovers. Each will have an independent 60% chance of working upon landing. If both rovers are operational, they will not produce any more scientific value than one rover alone. Construct a decision tree for the decision whether to launch the second rover. Describe what should be done, according to the decision tree.
