This needed Portfolio assignment you experience observing and interacting with people outside of the classroom. This has been designed to give you with the opportunity to develop skills, synthesize knowledge and integrate learning in a real world setting. This assignment accomplishes which goal by challenging you to:

a) Observe a group describing a topic of interest like a focus group, a community public assembly, a department meeting at your workplace or local support group.

b) Study how the group members interact and impact one other.

c) Analyze how the group behaviors and communication patterns affect the social facilitation.

d) Integrate your findings with evidence-based literature from journal articles, textbook and additional scholarly sources.

Purpose: To offer you with an opportunity to experience a group setting and analyze how the presence of others substantially affects the behaviors of its members via social facilitation.

Process: You will participate as a guest at an interest group meeting up in your community to collect data for a qualitative research paper. Once you have located an interest group, contact stakeholders and describe the purpose of your inquiry. After you receive permission to participate, you will schedule a date to attend the meeting; at which time you will observe the members and document the given for your analysis:

Part I: Submit the answers to such problems.

Note: The problem and answer list itself is not applicable to the word count requirement. It is utilized to organize your findings.

a) Identify the group you attended?

b) How were the people arranged in physical environment (layout of room and seating arrangement)?

c) Describe the composition of the group, in terms of number of people, ages, sex, ethnicity and so on?

d) Describe the group purpose, mission and goals?

e) Determine the duration of the group (short, long-term)? Describe.

f) Did the group structure its discussion around an agenda, program, rules of order and os on?

g) describe the structure of the group. How is the group organized?

h) Who are the primary facilitators of the group?

i) What subject or issues did the group members examine throughout the meeting?

j) What kinds of information did members exchange in their group?

k) What were the group's norms, roles, status hierarchy, or communication patterns?

l) What communication patterns described if the group was unified or fragmented? Describe.

m) Did the members share a sense of identity with one another (features of the group-similarities, interests, philosophy and so on)?

n) Was there any indication that members might be vulnerable to Groupthink? describe why or why not?

o) In your opinion, how did the collective group behaviors affect individual attitudes and the group's effectiveness?

Provide your overall analysis.

Part II: prepare down a 1,200- to 1,500-word (excluding references and title page) paper

Incorporate your analysis of the meeting with evidence from literature. Substantiate your conclusion. Report on how your observations relate to the research studies on norm formation, group norms, conformity, and/or social influence. Integrate your findings with a minimum of 3 sources from the textbook or peer-reviewed journal articles. Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines
