Objective:

You are encouraged to see the role of a project manager within the broader perspective of strategic business management, understanding where projects come from and why they are selected.

Tasks: Read the following tasks, understand and present your response in a document not more than 10 to 12 pages.

Task

a. Submit a work proposal for this assignment by the end of week 6 with the following.
o Understanding of deliverables - a detail description of deliverables
o General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution to task b, c ,d and e
o Resources identified
The work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle.

b. Write a scope statement for the selected project. [Your scope statement must include the details of stakeholders. It must focus on objectives or goals, and constraints on resources or time. The deliverables for the project need to be clearly identified within the scope statement. Cost estimates for the project should also be included in the scope statement.]

c. Having a talented project manager is the first step to actual project success, but there are other important factors that contribute largely to a project's outcome. It takes careful planning, attention to detail and effective communication to make a project succeed. Critically analyze the factors which can contribute to your project outcome and discuss how you manage those factors to take your project to achieve the intended goal.

d. Discuss the influence of your project on the society/organization. Critically evaluate the
ethical challenges you may have to face as a part of this project.

e. . Conduct a study on usage of any project management tool (other than MS project) for a particular project. Present a synopsis which contains the details of how the tool helped in various project management activities for the particular project. Provide evidence to support your discussion. The synopsis should not be more than one page and should be competently presented. Any referenced extra resource should be added as appendix.
