Introduction to Hospitality   

Question 1

Choose a metropolitan or larger city destination. The destination city should be somewhere you have never visited or somewhere with which you have very little familiarity. Using the Internet and other sources, investigate that destination using Tourism Organizations and other promoters as sources of information. Plan a 3 day visit for a family of 4 with 2 children aged 10 and 14 years. A good starting point is the destination CVB. Use the Destination Marketing Association International http://www.iacvb.org/ and search for the city you are investigating.

Describe a 3 day itinerary for the family's visit using the following format:

•List the web sites (at least 3) and other references you used to obtain information. .

•Describe what linkages/services need to be in place in order for the vacation to run smoothly.

Questions 2

Create a key points outline for a training session you would provide to entry level employees in a hospitality setting with which you are familiar. The training is entitled “Guest Service is My Top Priority.”
