Select a topic from the following list and submit your choice to your instructor for approval before beginning: Two news programs (one local and one national) or two online news sources Two opposing websites covering a national issue A comparison of the representation of male and female characters in a specific movie genre Two protagonists from two of your favorite books or novels Two national or international figures from an important time in history Another topic, as approved by your instructor

Write a rough draft of a five-paragraph, 700- to 1,050-word academic comparison and contrast essay on your selected topic that incorporates at least two peer-reviewed academic sources.

Note. The term five-paragraph essay may or may not have exactly five paragraphs. The term refers to a form of short essay based around an introduction, approximately three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion, for a total of five paragraphs.
