My mother-in-law had a bladder infection for over 2 years and her doctor has been treating her with different antibotics to try and clear it up. Now she has been given Macrobid. We are concerned about all the antibotics she has been taking.

Is it normal to be prescribed Macrobid 100 mg, 2 x daily for 10 days and then 1 per day for 80 days?
