My 63 yr old mother was put on this drug by her heart consultant to stop her "heart flutters", which only started 6 weeks ago after she had a knee replacement, (she only had 2 lots of 300mg over a 7 day hospital stay) but since leaving hospital the flutters continued so only last week he has given them to her to take 2x100mg everyday, but stated although this drug will prevent a heart attack if she was to have one she couldn't be resuscitated - can anyone explain why this is (i have to relay this to my mother so please use non-medical terminology if possible) . Why cant you be resuscitated if taking flecainide?
