Airline Booking System

An airline booking system is used to book the tickets in the corresponding airlines. It contains airline schedules. fare tariffs, passenger reservations and ticket records. The passengers can book their air ticket by the two types of booking methods. The first type is booking directly through Internet or mobile application in corresponding airlines. The second type is booking indirectly through the travel agencies. There are seven sub-systems namely the computer booking system, the global distribution system, the flight operations system, the crew management system, the catering system, the customer care system and the administration system.

The computer reservation system is used to book a particular airline which interfaces with the global distribution system.

The global distribution system supports travel agencies and other distribution channels in booking most mapr airlines in a single system.
The flight operations system is responsible for keeping track of all flights in operation and also controls, monitors and schedules the flights according to the timing.

The crew management system provides support for the passengers such as scat arrangements, serving meals. and also the passenger needs.

The catering system provides meals for the passengers There is a selection of special meals available t accommodate any passenger who has specific medical or dietary needs, religious requirements or specie requests.

The customer care system can be used by the customers to enquire about ticket reservations, check-in, traffic. operations, baggage services and flight services. This system maintains all the enquiry details to store in t database and then they sent back the details to the administration system to fulfill the customer needs

The administration system maintains the flight operations system, the crew management system and the catering system.

An airline inventory contains all flights with their available seats. The airline inventory is generally divided into two types of service classes namely business class and economy class. The passenger accesses an airline inventory through an availability display. It contains all offered flights for a particular country with their available seats In the different booking classes. This display contains flight name, code, originating flight terminal and destination terminal, along with stops in between, number of seats booked/available seats between two destinations. The passengers make the reservation according to their needs. Reservation details and special service requests are transferred to the flight operations system, to the crew management system and to the catering System.

The passengers pay the fares to airlines or travel agencies by credit cards or debit cards and then the ticket will be issued. The ticket information contains the ticket number, departure and arrival, the fare and tax components of the ticket price. All the ticket information is stored in the database.
