Module 1 Discussion Question Chapter 1

In Chapter 1, we see that the National Association of Colleges and Employers has found that employers most desire good communication skills in the college graduates they may hire.

Moreover, research has shown that introductory communication courses provide important skills necessary for functioning in entry-level jobs, including listening, writing, motivating/persuading, interpersonal skills, informational interviewing, and small-group problem solving. Considering all the above, respond to the following questions:

Do you think you are a good communicator?

What have you taken from Chapter 1 that will be your first step towards a better understanding of communication that will help you become a better communicator?

Remember to cite your text using either MLA or APA style. If you have a hard copy of the Flat World book, then cite using page numbers. If you use a digital copy, then cite using chapter and section numbers. If you do not cite, your posting will not be graded.

Your reply to the original topic questions must be a minimum of 300 words.

You must reply to at least two classmates' postings with a minimum of 50 words each.

Respond with a thought-provoking comment on the ideas and research presented.

Do not simply comment on grammar and rhetoric.
