  2. Dé Licious Bakers owned by Plum Kake are famous for their unique lime cakes. They currently produce one variety of cake and are the toast of the town. While the process of making cakes is relatively simple (as depicted in the figure below, you need to first make dough and put filling in the cake before you bake them in the oven. Then you can put frosting on the baked cakes before you package and sell them), Kake claims that it is the care with which they do each of these steps that makes their products exquisite. Kake has 3 people working for him. Miss Syrupy prepares the dough. Mr. Treacly takes care of the frosting. Miss Cloying, his girlfriend, packages the cakes and collects money from the customers. The filling is prepared by Kake himself and it takes 19 min. The dough preparation takes 15 min, frosting 10 min and packaging another 7 min. The baking of the cake takes 30 min in the oven. Kake was a TOM major at Cal Poly Pomona and knew the virtues of bottleneck pacing. He ensured that this concept was implemented in his shop.
