Two criteria are employed to judge the quality of a work: craft (how well an artwork was made) and communication (the rareness of the artist's vision and its message or meaning). Michelangelo Buonarroti and Leonardo Da-Vinci were considered masters of these two qualities. Compare and contrast the work of art from each artist, citing Specific methods which each artist used to convey the meaning. For illustration: composition, color, gesture, size, perspective, chiaroscuro, idealism, symbolism and allegory.

Be sure to describe the specific 'points' of this problem for each and every artist. You should describe how "craft" and "communication" function in each work of art. Use specific works of art as exs! Describe how you find out "craft" and how the works you chose describe this quality. What methods did the artist use? And where do we see them within the work? Describe what "communication" means, and what the works communicate (and how they do it).
