Media Framing:

This assignment focus on the importance of the media in framing and interpreting political issues.

Select three contrasting opinion pieces from different publications addressing the same political news story.

Write a short paper where you:

Analyze the tone (positive, negative, neutral) of each article.

Does the article favor a particular political viewpoint (e.g., conservative, moderate, liberal)? If so, what viewpoint?

Use information from the article (word choice, sources, title, order of information, missing information, etc.) and concepts from the chapter to explain why you reached your conclusion.

Compare and contrast the three articles.

Assignments should be approximately 800-1,000 words. Your focus should be more on content than meeting word requirements.

Use size 12 font, any standard type.
