Marketing Introduction Presentation

Description: Marketing is a field of study that is quickly changing and one you need to immerse yourself in. To accomplish this, you are required to develop an understanding of marketing through personal exploration. The focus of this assignment is on establishing and then communicating your understanding of marketing.

Requirements: To successfully meet the requirements for this assignment as outlined in the included evaluation rubric, you are required to construct a presentation that includes 15-20 slides of content, an introduction slide, and a references slide for the sources of your information. You can take creative license in how you present the information as long as someone who is going through the presentation can understand what you are presenting without being able to hear you describe it. This is a difficult undertaking and requires that you not only understand the basics of marketing but effectively describe the most important components (hint: integrate hyperlinks to WebPages, interviews, webinars and other sources that support the points you are making on each slide). For this assignment, you are required to address the following:

1. Marketing Defined: Provide an appropriate introduction to what marketing is, what it means and how it is changing with technology. (1 slide)

2. Core Ideas/Foundations: Identify the core theories, ideas, thoughts, foundations of marketing. Focus on providing the core thoughts and ideas that have shaped this important field of our industry. (3 slides)

3. Core Terminology: What are the most important 7-10 terms that would provide the novice with the quickest insight into what marketing means? (2-4 slides)

4. Key Individuals/Websites/Tools: This is the Who's Who of marketing as you see it. Include the most important individuals, websites, businesses and tools. (2-4 slides)

5. Guiding Principles: Your chance to be David Letterman - create the Top 10 list of what business should/should not do as it relates to marketing. These are the guiding principles that businesses or newly-minted managers should follow. (2 slides)

6. Three Takeaways: An opportunity for you to tell me three things that you believe everyone should know about marketing. These are not necessarily tools or trends but rather your demonstration of what is important for individuals to know about marketing. (3 slides)
