Many of you have heard about the "McDonalds hot coffee law suit." After reading chapters 7 & 8, review the McDonald article and the "Starbucks hot coffee case," article. (both on LMS) Keep in mind law suits, concerning product liability, are filed everyday for products, other than coffee. I chose coffee because the McDonalds suit has become a landmark case and, I chose Starbucks, because, I prefer dark roast Using these articles and the information in your text, comment on the following. Doing some additional research, on Tort law, could make your posting even stronger:

1. Do you feel we need "tort reform" in America. Why, why not? This is a "political" issue that comes up nearly every election.

2. Do you see these type of law suits as serious or frivilous? Explain.

3. Do you feel, in general, the courts are awarding too much monetary damages to victims. Not enough? Other examples?

4. Are businesses too vulnerable to law suits? Is it too easy for businesses to be sued in America? Explain

5. In your response, demonstrate, to me, that understand tort law, negligence and liability. Providing their definitions is not enough.

6. Have you ever filed alaw suit concerning product liability?
