TASK 1 -

You are required to review the case study on 'VTI Electronics' attached as Appendix A. You are required to build a better and more effective work environment through innovative learning and continuous improvement process. Based on the case study, devise and document your responses on the following points:

Perform detailed analysis of:

  • Supply chain management.
  • Operational management system.
  • Product and service delivery system.

Develop review strategy to evaluate performance and sustainability of key systems and processes.

Identify and evaluate Key Result Areas (KRSs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assessment tools and techniques.

Analyse performance report and variances for KRAs from the data provided in the case study. Include sales, profit and losses, delivery, business growth and design manufacturing.

What were the ongoing trends and opportunities as per the case study? Why did VTI Electronics failed? Discuss the company's SWOT analysis.

Now if the company would still have been in operations today,

What advice you would seek from internal and external specialists about technology and e-commerce opportunities.

Develop innovation and performance improvement strategies and communicate to all relevant groups: (As an exercise, you can verbally communicate this to your assessor. Attached observation sheet must be filled for every student.)

  • Strategic goals.
  • Amendment to existing processes or implementation of new processes.
  • New KRAs, KPIs and targets.
  • Increasing efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure creative climate and promote interaction for communicating the performance improvement strategies.

Seek new ideas from others and work through their implications to try them.

Recognise potential problems if any, during training and accept them as failure.

Perform risk management and cost-benefit analysis for all ideas approved for trial.

Submit new innovation through an agreed processes.

TASK 2 -

In continuation with the case study in Appendix A , you are also required to perform the following tasks:

Develop transition and communication action plan including:

  • Activities and objectives.
  • KPIs and Timeframes.
  • Activities promoting processes and sustainability.
  • Impact of any change and its consequences on people.

Develop and implement a contingency plan in case of non-performance.

Find out and analyse root causes of failure.

Identify emerging challenges and opportunities.

Develop evaluation and continuous improvement plan.

Document and brief costs and benefits of innovation and improvement to work groups.
