Male and female customers arrive to a service station that works for 5 hrs a day. The service is offered by a set of two receptionists, namely, Sam and Dave. Generally, the males arrive according to the following rates:
Hour in the day Rate (males/hr)
1 5
2 7
3 9
4 8
5 2
The time between arrivals of the females is Exp(6) in minutes. Usually, female customers prefer the handsome Sam over Dave, while the male customers don't mind what person to perform the service, hence for the males, the receptionist is selected randomly. No matter what person is selected, the service time for the males is distributed triangularly as TRI(2, 6 10) in minutes.
The service time for the females is little different as shown in the sketch below:
Distribution of females service time
For this simple scenario, simulate the process until the total number of customers who are done with the service is 500 (of course this includes the males as well as the females).
