Major Research Assignment

You are the Chief of Police, Director of the Department of Corrections, Chief Justice of the Court. Your job is to design and implement a new Ethical Policy or change an existing policy for your department. You will need to familiarize yourself with this agency as a whole, paying particular attention to such things as mission, programs, size, type of governance, and history.

You will need to evaluate the organization to determine if they are in compliance with this policy. Determine if this organization is in compliance with the national or state standards that have been set.

Write out questions that you will need to ask someone in your organization to elicit the information you need. For example, if you are attempting to ascertain whether the results of the assessment are used to improve the organizations ethical behavior and if so, how, or if not, why. Include these questions in your appendix. Make sure your questions are specific and not general to where the individual will talk around the policy. Ask or determine what recourse an employee has if the policy has been violated.

You will need a title page, abstract, and a reference page and written in the APA 6th Ed. Format.

Requirements:

Your essay must be concise and compact-i.e., not more than five (5) pages in length, not counting the title page, abstract, and reference. Standard format is typed 11 cpi or 12 cpi, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, and number pages. Included references of all sources used. You must follow the APA 6th Edition format. You must have six (6) resources with your textbook being one of your resources at a minimum. All resources must be in the body of the paper. You cannot use Wikipedia or Encyclopedia. You can only have one Internet source. Your resources cannot be more than five (5) years old.

THE PAPER MUST INCLUDE:

• The present Code of Ethics for your organization
• History of your organization
• Mission Statement of your organization
• The vision of your organization
• Original policy and what your changes will be
• Procedures for implementing your policy and what recourse if violated
• Power-point presentation to the class explaining the new or changed policy

You must have the correct title page, an abstract a reference page and no running heads.
