Mahara Portfolio (Academic Lead: Rebecca Hindley)

Details regarding what tasks you need to complete and what you need to upload to your Mahara Portfolio were provided during the first 6 weeks of the unit. Please refer to the instructions provided via myBU, which also cover which parts of your Mahara Portfolio to make public, which to keep private, and how to do this.

You are required to do the following:

1. Create (or update) a profile page that includes a profile picture.

2. Include an image of a quotation that means something to you and add some commentary about why you have chosen this quotation.

3. Include a video that motivates you and add comments about why you have chosen this video, and how it motivates you.

4. Create an additional page, and complete the attached Employability Radar, and upload this document to your new page.

Remember:

  • Include dynamic media content to portray who you are and what you want to become.
  • Use other self-reflection tools - www.mindtools.com and www.businessballs.com are good resources, although others are available.
  • Reference your work correctly.
  • Mahara does not have a spellcheck function, so if you are concerned about your spelling and/or grammar, it is advisable to use MS Word or Mac Pages to check your writing, and then copy and paste checked work into your Mahara pages.

Once complete, share your additional page with Rebecca Hindley and Mark Ridolfo (do not worry about sharing your profile page because we, as well as anyone else, will be able to access your profile page as it is a public page). Email us to let us know that your Resubmission is complete.

Help on how to use Mahara is available on the system, just click on the 'How to Build', 'How to Share' boxes - ignore How to Submit as we will not be using that function for resubmission.

4. Assessment criteria and weightings

Please refer to Page 6 of the Unit Handbook for details of Marking Criteria and Intended Assessment Outcomes.
