The Ecomagination project which GE launched in 2005 aids the society via environmentally advantageous items (like small fluorescent light bulbs) while at the same time contributing to the firm’s bottom line. This plan increased revenue for the firm on such items from 6 billion dollars in 2004, prior to the start of the initiative, to 10 billion dollars in 2005. Honeybees are vanishing at a fast pace — and this is harmful to the food chain. Haagen-Dazs developed a site to increase awareness about this concern: ‘Honey bees pollinate 1/3rd of all the foods that we consume, including several of the elements in our ice creams, bars, frozen yogurt.' Thus, smartly linking the CSR initiative to the firm’s core mission. Goals 1. $15 billion invested in clean R&D. 2. $200 billion in Ecomagination product revenue. 3. 31% reduction in GE’s GHG emissions from the 2004 baseline. 4. 42% reduction in GE’s water use from the 2006 baseline. 5. Second Generation Goals: - Invest $25B in Ecomagination R&D between 2005-2020 - Reduce GE's GHG emissions by at least 20% by 2020 from 2011 baseline

Question: What is the relationship between GE and Haagen-Dazs? What is the relationship in CSR for these two companies?
