Lester and Logan both lived in Texas and were neighbors.  Lester had supplied hay to Logan and other neighbors for over thirteen years and Lester was aware that Logan fed the hay to Lester's cattle.  On January 1st, Lester delivered 28 bales of hay to Logan, which Logan promptly put out as feed for his cattle. The next day, Logan found that seven of his cows had died.  The following day, Logan found that six more cows had died and seven other cows aborted their fetuses, bringing the total to thirteen.  Unfortunately, the cows died from the poisonous levels of nitrates found in the hay.

Did Lester violate (a) an implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or (b) an implied warranty of merchantability?  Explain.
