1. Critically evaluate the importance of labour relations and trade unions within an organisation.

2. Examine the usage of the Oman Labour Law

Q1:Choose an organization associated with a trade union in Oman & prepare a report on below concepts with regards to the chosen organization.

a. What do you understand by grievance? Provide a detailed discussion with support of literature.

b. What causes grievances in the chosen organization? Analyze any four causes

c. Critically evaluate the grievance procedure followed by the organization selected

d. Identify and explain any two articles from Oman Labour Law related to grievance

There will be a group presentation, that each group will be presenting for 15-20 minutes, which will cover the topics above along with the diaries of every meetings that been held by the group members. Individual scoring of the group report will be based on the presentation & viva performance.

Instructions for the assignment:

1. Each group shall comprise 4-5 students.

2. Students should submit a proposal form with chosen organization name within a weeks' time

3. Total words count should not exceed 2000 words. Annexure(s) will not be considered for number of words.

4. The assignment should have a cover page, table of contents, introduction, and answers to the questions, conclusion, and appropriate references.

5. The report should be done in Word, font size 12, font style Times New Roman, text colour black, colours can be used ONLY in appendices; main body of the report should be black and white.

6. The assignment should contain a section on how you planned and undertook the task as a group and how/what did individual members contribute. You can attach the filled in template as an annexure.
