2. Label each city from question 1 with their corresponding letter (a-e) on the blank map at the end of the lab.

3. How many possible degrees exist for latitude? Longitude?

4. Explain why the above two numbers for questions 3 different?

5. What governs the locations of lines of longitude? What is the relationship between the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England and the Prime Meridian?

6. Define sub-solar point. Between which two lines of latitude can sub-solar points on the Earth be found?

7. What is the relationship between the sub-solar point and the declination for a given day in the year?

8. The following location coordinates have errors in them. Determine the error and explain why it is wrong.

b. 47.5^oS, 181^oE

c. 0^os, 97^oE

9. Draw a graph representing the pressure profile of the atmosphere as you increase in altitude. Draw a second graph of the temperature profile. Include in your graph the 4 "shells" of the atmosphere based on the temperature criterion, and labels for each axis.

10. Draw the Earth-Sun diagram for BOTH the June and December solstices. Make sure you label the following: the date it falls on, The Tropics, the Circles, the Equator, and the Circle of Illumination. Include on the diagram an X in the location where the sub-solar points is for each solstice.
