You consider the income opportunity that Anesthesia care for ENT procedures provides to SAS. SAS has a coding and billing system which you can pull data from for this purpose.

7. Locate the Medicare and commercial payment for the procedure in #7. Calculate an average payment for this procedure.

8. Using the average payment in #8, how much did SAS earn on this procedure in 2016?

9. Assume the average payment to SAS for all the procedures completed in 2016 was $175.00 (To simplify this question, use this average payment rather than calculate the actual average.) Assume that SAS could provide anesthesia for 16 ENT procedures on the additional surgery day that LiveWell is requesting.

Using this number of procedures and the average payment provided here, what would a day of payment income be for SAS?Show your work for the calculation of average income for anesthesia work.

10. Now use the income calculated for the additional day of anesthesia care at LiveWell for ENT cases (in #9 above)to calculate a profit.

Assume the cost to provide a full-time day of anesthesia care for payroll and benefits is $750. Show your work for the calculation of profit for this single day of anesthesia care.

11. Short Answer: Assess the profit calculation (#10 above) and formulate a recommendation for Dr General to either proceed/not proceed with the additional day of anesthesia care for ENT at LiveWell. (Expound and support your assessment in a full paragraph.
