Laarni is a 19-year-old female college student of Filipino descent, who is currently living in a college dorm. She is 5’ 2” tall, weighs 170 lbs, and has a waist circumference of 37 inches. Other than walking to her classes, Laarni does not participate in any physical activity. She usually skips breakfast, eats lunch and dinner, and enjoys a snack each evening around midnight. On the weekends, she likes to eat out at fast-food restaurants. On a typical weekday, Laarni eats a gyro, french fries, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, cookies, candy, and crackers, and drinks 4 glasses of lemonade. Her diet is generally high in protein and fat, and low in fruits, vegetables, and fiber. Laarni would like to lose weight. She reports that she has been able to lose up to 10 lbs. in the past by fasting, but usually regains the weight quickly.
