Kodak Fails to Focus on the BIg Picture

1. In what ways has Gib Bulloch performed all three intrapreneurial roles -- inventor, product champion, and sponsor -- in the development of Accenture Development Partnerships (ADP)?

2. Show how ADP is a good example of an incremental innovation. Of a technical innovation. Of a combination product and process innovation.

3. In Bulloch's experience, people typically face a “binary choice” when they graduate from college:

Either you join a public-sector organization and do good, or you join a business and do well. If it's the latter, you make a great deal ofmoney and then as retirement looms, the desire to “give back” kicks in -- the philanthropy gene comes in the fore and you start donating hard-earned cash to so-called good causes. But what if you don't want to wait until you're 60 to do good? What if you feel you have the most to give in your 20's or 30's? ADP started, says Bulloch, when he and a number of relatively young colleagues "started thinking in terms of a 'hybrid career' that blends all the atrractive benefits of training and remuneration found in the private sector with opportunities to apply core skills to social challenges."

How about you? Let's say for the sake of argument that Bulloch's characterization of this decision-making point isn't overly simplified. Do you think that you might find the prospect of a "hybrid career" attractive when you graduate from college? Why or why not? Do you think that you might find the prospect more attractive 20 years later, when (with a little luck) you'ved carved out a "standard" career for yourself? Why or why not?
