Knowing Your Audience

The concept of audience is often overlooked by students when writing in an academic setting.

However, knowing your reader is an essential part of creating an authoritative essay. Have you even considered what impact does the concept of audience have on writing?

Using the readings for this module, respond to the following:

• How does the audience influence the structure, tone, word choice, and content of an essay? 
• Consider the audience in a classroom setting. What assumptions might you make regarding your audience?
• Write your initial response in about 150-250 words.
