Juvenile Justice Assessment

This assignment is TWO parts:

Part 1: Please post a response to the following: Are you more crime control or due process oriented? How do you feel about the future of juvenile courts, considering your orientation?

(the response should be less than half page)

Part 2: Then, please respondto the following opinion.

(Personally, I am a more crime control oriented person when it comes to many things. When it comes to the criminal justice system I believe that you have a debt that must be paid.

This does not mean that we should go about things in the most impractical, retribution-type way, but we should punish and ensure offenders change their deviant behavior.

I believe that the juvenile court system right now overall is doing a relatively good job by focusing more on reforming juveniles than punishing them just because they committed an offense.

People, regardless of age, should know that there are repercussions to to bad decisions and the juvenile system does this relatively; although it is not perfect.

As far as the future goes, I believe that reforms in the system will provide a better system for punishing justly and proportionately, as well as provide programs to steer juveniles away from their deviant behavior).
