I've been on Microgestin FE for about 8 months now. The first 3-4 months taking birth control, my period was pretty normal (heavy flow) lasting 5-7 days and tapering off at the end.

My last "normal" period was 3 months ago. They cycle after that, I missed and/or took 2 pills late (different weeks, non-consecutively). This is also the last time I had sex. Since then, my period has been between 1-2 days, very light or just spotting. I've experienced a few pregnancy symptoms and even took a couple of pregnancy tests (which were negative).

I realize that birth control in general makes periods lighter and shorter (which I am grateful for), however, to go from 5-7 days of heavy bleeding to 1-2 days of light spotting concerns me. Do you think I'm just experiencing a side effect of the birth control? Or should I be worried about a possible pregnancy?
