Is the Volvo monster truck ad deceptive? Does the ad make any false claims or produce any false beliefs in consumers' minds? If so, do these false claims or false beliefs harm consumers in any way? Why are they objectionable? (Can you think of any current ads that appear deceptive? Toyota trucks?)
Since the ads attempted to recreate the results of an actual monster truck rally in Vermont, could Volvo avoid a charge of deception by identifying the ads as a dramatization rather than as an actual demonstration?
