ASSIGNMENT QUESTION -
Task: You are to write a Business Plan that applies general management ideas to a specific business.
The plan should be 2500 words.
You should use information that you have learned in your Introduction to Business classes, along with information from the core textbook and other suggested reading material.
INSTRUCTIONS - You are drafting a Business Plan that outlines your new business venture.
Select ONE type of business you will be starting from the following list (it is recommended that you choose one that is most related to your intended course of study):
Topic: "A social care business that provides at-home care for people".

1. Introduction [Max 400 words]
1.1 Outline your new Business Venture.
- State the nature of the business and what product or service it provides
- State your USP and explain why your business would have a competitive edge.
1.2 Business Type
- Is your business: Partnership or a company and explain why you have chosen this business model
1.3 Research:
Research into the business service you have chosen & existing competitors. Illustrate using the research you have done, why you think there is a demand or market for your service and why your business could compete.
2. Business Plan (up to 1700 words)
2.1 Describe in detail the product/ service that the business will sell. Apply McCarthy's 4Ps and any other relevant models.
- Place: Will there be a physical presence, consider location or run as an online business
- Products / services being offered with your business, illustrate with examples
- Price: Consider the Pricing strategies you have learnt.
- Promotion: how will your business will be marketed. Eg: What marketing strategies will you adopt.
2.2 Employees/ staff [ you must have a minimum of 3 & maximum of 7 employees]
- Explain the job roles assigned to the business employees & role of the manager/s
- Explain whether your business management is a pyramid hierarchical or flat structure
2.3 Customers/ clients
Explain how clients/ customers will have access/ or acquire to the service you are promoting
3. Future Plans (Max 400 words)
3.1 Should your business be successful, explain how the business could expand in the future. Illustrate by giving examples, what strategies you would adopt to expand.
Additional marks awarded for presentation layout and use of relevant graphs & charts, images, data provided they help to illustrate the business plan.
