Introducing the Course Project

In the course project, you will review different business aspects of a publicly owned company. In each module, you will examine a particular aspect, map it to the topics in the module, and submit your report to the instructor.

Complete the following tasks to start working on the course project.

Task 1: Identify the Organization

• Identify a publicly owned multinational company.

• Submit a list of at least five resources you will use to conduct the review (e.g., company Web site link, relevant news links, results of company-name keyword searches in the EBSCO host library, personal interviews, etc.). This list will be used to show if the organization you chose is acceptable for the course project.

Be sure to choose a company in which you are interested and which has enough information available publicly to complete the course project. If you plan to use personal interviews, call or send e-mail messages to the company's public relations executive to confirm that he or she is comfortable in giving you the necessary details. You will jeopardize your course project if you go ahead without securing these resources.

Submit your choice of organization and the list of resources.

Task 2: Review the Management Practices

After the instructor approves your choice of the company, start creating a 4-page document reviewing the management and organizational practices followed in the company you chose. Address the following in your review:

• Provide the organizational structure or organizational chart of the company.
• List the employee benefits provided by the company.
• Provide a list of the most important key terms (at least ten) in management and HR along with short descriptions of those terms in your own words.

Task 3: Review of Ethical Practices

• Identify the areas and topics covered in the ethics statement. If there is no formal ethics statement, identify the areas that need to be addressed by an ethics statement.

• Identify the social initiatives undertaken by the company. If the company has not taken any such initiative, identify fields that should be addressed by the company.

• Provide a list of the most important key terms (at least ten) you came across in your study of business ethics along with short descriptions of those terms in your own words.

The review should include an introduction, conclusion, and your original analysis of the organization's management practices.

Write a 7-8-page review in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.
