You are required to synthesize literature works on influential factors affecting consumer behaviour. Your synthesis should consist of 2 sections.

The first section will consist of the following:

(a) A 5-8 page write-up on consumer motivation in the context of consumer behavior (based on your selection of 5-8 journal articles from 2010 onwards).

(b) A brief description of definitions and theories of motivation

(c) An analysis on the importance of motivation in consumer behavior

(d) An evaluation on how motivation influences consumer behavior

(e) Conclusion

The second section will consist of the following:

(a) A 5-8 page write-up on consumer perception in the context of consumer behavior (based on your selection of 5-8 journal articles from 2010 onwards).

(b) A brief description of definitions and theories of perception

(c) An analysis on the importance of consumer perception in consumer behavior

(d) An evaluation on how consumer perception influences consumer behavior

(e) Conclusion

Assignment Format:

a. Use double space and 12-point Times New Roman font.

b. This assignment should contain about 3000-5000 words (at 15-20 pages).

c. Provide references. References should use the American Psychological Association (APA) format.

d. References should be from year 2010 and onwards.

- Assignments must be submitted together with the printed journal articles in hard copies to your facilitator.

Explanation about Assignment

I. Assignment Submission:

- You are required to submit your assignment through the Learning Management System (LMS)'s submission link provided by AOU- Bahrain.
- Assignment MUST ONLY be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
- In case there are additional files to be submitted together with your assignment word file, you need to put all the files in a single directory and compress it into one .rar archive and submit it by the due date.
- Submit your assignment to the LMS system on (or preferably before) the cut-off date shown above.
- Your assignment will be marked and post the grades to the LMS before the final exam.

II. Objective:

The objective of this assignment is analyse contemporary problems in organisations and to propose appropriate information systems to overcome these problems. This assignment is also to expose you to the various forms of organisational information systems.

III. Required TASKS

1.) Select a well-known organisation and provide a description of the organisation.

The description should include: brief introduction about the organization, about the IT Department, Information systems currently used etc...

2.) General literature writes up on the evolution of Information Systems.

This is the part you have to do research on related literature.
You must provide at least FIVE references in the American Psychological Association (APA) format of referencing, excluding Wikipedia and YouTube. References should be latest (year 2011 onwards)
You can complete this task using the e-library and other external sources; you need to search the AOU-e-library and the internet to identify relevant material. In particular, you are urged to use the following sources, all of which are freely available to AOU students:
o AOU's subscribed e-library, accessible through the LMS which includes a number of different resources
o Google books
o Google scholar

Quoting and Referencing. When you wish to quote other materials, then you must clearly acknowledge the source according to accepted rules of citation and referencing. You can use the MSWord® referencing tool to facilitate including references and citations in the proper format. The following link shows you how to use this feature:

Note that it is not enough to simply post a reference at the end of the document without explicitly stating which parts of your document are being quoted. Proper citation of external sources must be included. Also, quoting is only used in limited fashion; to refer to a point using the words of a well-recognized guru, for example. Large amounts of materials copied into your assignment will not be accepted, even if properly quoted. If you need to refer to large amount of external material, you can simply refer to the source.

3.) Identify and discuss key problems faced by the selected organisation. You are expected to analyse the problem and discuss the impact of the problem on the organisation.

Once you have finished the requirement analysis and gained information about the problems, summarize your findings here.

You could complete the requirement analysis by doing interviews with employees, IT Department or by conducting surveys etc.

4.) Suggest THREE types of information system which can aid the selected organisation. The solution should relate to the issues stated in task 3.
