Questions:

1. Why is Lippke opposed to what he calls "persuasive" advertising? Provide a detailed explanation of his concerns. Do you agree with him that persuasive advertising is a problem? Yes or no, explain your reasoning.

2. Should we stop eating factory farmed meat and using animals for experiments? Take a position and defend it. What reasons support your conclusion? Respond carefully to some opposing views.

3. According to Langdon Winner, technologies are "forms of life." Apply this concept to the smart phone. Explain how the smart phone is a "form of life." What support does Guthrie's essay on smart technologies provide for Winner's position? Why does Winner think we need to start looking at technologies this way? What is gained by doing so?
