Group Assessment:

A group of two or three students are required to make a case study examination of the role of the organisation "GS1" [www1.gs1au.org] - your report, based on a combination of facts you have/can learn about the company and your own opinions, should describe:

• the role of GS1 abdullah

The report should establish links between key points you have learned in the classroom, academic literature, and the role of GS1. Particular issues that should be addressed include:

• The roles of GDSN (GS1-Net) and EPC Global Amer
• How a recognised system of standards for barcodes and RFID benefits the supply chain? Amer
• Describing what the Bullwhip Effect (BWE) is and how technology can be used to eliminate it? Amer
• How an established standard for electronic communication can make the need for paper-based invoicing redundant? Amer

The report is limited to 4000-4500 words (excluding references), a word count should be provided at the end, and it should follow an acceptable academic structure for case study reports (e.g. Executive Summary, Introduction, Main text, Discussion, Conclusions, References, etc.)

Academic references should be included, to support/contrast your findings about the company, and all referencing should be in the Harvard style - this applies to the citations in the main body of the text as well as the reference section at the end of your report.
