In today's world we have superior performer for sure in the team. Superior performers are those who have great sense of knowledge and who have been with the team for a long time and know most details of the project. In my opinion superior performers cannot be good teammates.

From my experience I can say that superior performer cannot be a good teammate. We are a team of 8 people at my workplace. Most of us in the team are almost 2 years old but there few people who are older than us and have been working with the team. They know almost everything about the project. In particular there is guy who has been with the team for almost close to 5 years. He has very good knowledge and skills regarding the project. He is very good at what he does but he is not a very good teammate. He is a very good individual person who helps us others and me a lot and provides us solutions and tips if we are stuck anywhere but he is not a very good team player.  When we are assigned tasks for a particular sprint he usually finishes them in fast as he knows what he has to do and where to work on it. But, sometimes some tasks are interlinked and so some tasks are assigned to us and me and since I need to finish up my task to complete so the superior performer can finish his task. Since the superior performer finishes his other tasks and will be waiting for my task to be completed so he can finish up this may create various problems for everyone. The organization can think that we have not been doing our tasks and wasting others time along with ours. One of other thing the superior performer try to do is hog the limelight. Superior performers try to take matters into their own hands and others have to follow their lead. They take action into their own hands and try to interfere in others matters as well which most people don't like.

So, based on my personal experience I can clearly say that Superior Performers cannot be good teammates.
