In this assignment, your objective is to try to determine people's attitudes toward poverty and toward poor people.

1. First, get some background information by reading up on the topic of poverty. There has been quite some amount of academic research clone on the topic. Go to the library or the library website. Look up information online, especially on electronic databases like EBSCO. Ask a reference librarian for help if required. Try to find out what has been written about people's attitudes toward poverty and toward poor people.

2. Next, interview 4-5 people. The purpose of the Interviews is to understand firsthand what people think about poverty, and also how they view poor people.

3. During your Interview, get each person to talk about some time in their lives when they weren't very, well off or may have had very little money.

4. Also, get a sense for how they view poverty and poor people. Do they view poverty as character building? Do they view poor people as lazy? Do they feet money leads to problems and so poor people are more satisfied? Think of more questions that will allow you to explore your respondent's attitudes and feelings about poverty and poor people, and use them in your interview.

5. Sc professional in all your transactions. If your respondents are quiet or reticent, use your ingenuity and resourcefulness to get them to open up. Or locate others you could Interview. Look at this exercise as a learning exercise and a networking opportunity.

6. Write up your findings in the form of a report - how do people view poverty and poor people? As supporting material, you can quote verbatim from your interviews, in which case you should include some background information on your respondents to provide context. You can also include in your report any information you gained from your library search, citing your sources.

7. Rewrite and revise you drafts. Showcase the knowledge you acquired through your reading as well as darting the interviews.
