In this assignment, create a wellness newsletter geared towards either a community or corporate setting using MS publisher or equivalent. Students are responsible for designing TWO PAGES of a newsletter including the writing of the text, designing the layout, and creating the visuals that should be both engaging and informative. Of particular importance is to ensure that a fit exists between the chosen setting (corporate or community) and the content (anything from bullying in the workplace to accessing medical services for the immigrant population) that is appropriate and meaningful. As part of the process, students will be expected to consider style and formatting options (such as font/color schemes and one vs. two sided printing), the lead story headline versus the secondary headline, types of publication designs (such as art boxes, accessory bars, accent boxes etc.) and the use of special points of interest sections. Students will need to provide a reference list of all the material used in creating the newsletter. This assignment is due Week 7 and is worth 25% of the total course mark.

For this assignment, students will collect, organize, and display health information in a newsletter format that is pertinent to a chosen setting and target population.

1. Identify newsletters topics (and themes) that are both relevant and appropriate for the chosen setting and target audience.

2. Collect and organize all information to be used in the newsletter ensuring that it is geared toward your target audience.

3. Prepare the newsletter text - 2 pages of content including lead story headline and secondary headlines. Based on your setting and target audience, make simple recommendations and practical suggestions for applying the newsletter information in every day life.

4. Design the layout using MS Publisher or equivalent, and create the visuals for both pages including use of art boxes, accent boxes, accessory bars, charts, tables, pictures and white spaces to make the product creative and visually appealing.
