Imagine that your initial consultation with Tasty Farms concluded satisfactorily, and the Director of Human Resources has asked you to continue your work with the company. In the initial interviews that you hypothetically conducted (refer to the Week Two Written Assignment), you learned that members of the Executive Team have concerns about the morale of employees in the Packing and Shipping department. You discovered that turnover in the department is higher than anywhere else in the company, and that employees grumble about high levels of work-related stress, tight deadlines, and unprecedented amounts of mandatory overtime to meet customer requirements. In your hypothetical interviews, members of the Executive Team questioned whether the skill set of employees in the department is sufficient to meet quality and service demands, and, correspondingly, whether the jobs in the department are appropriately compensated. You have learned that Packing and Shipping department employees are among the least well-educated and lowest paid employees in the company.

In a paper of at least 3 pages, describe how you would initiate a diagnosis of the Packing and Shipping department and the individual jobs within the department. Identify the diagnostic approach you would take, the types of data collection methods you would recommend, and the questions you would ask to come to a better understanding of the issues in the department, based on a diagnosis of the group and of individual jobs.
