I'm on Lovenox because I developed a large pulmonary embolism after reacting to the drug Tamoxifen for breast cancer. I was taken off Tamoxifen. I'm told now that I'll need to be on Lovenox for life because of having cancer. I wasn't put on blood thinners when I left the hospital with cancer, so why would that be the explanation now. If cancer wasn't an issue, wouldn't I be taken off the blood thinners after a certain amount of time (after the blood clots had reabsorbed into my system) ?
