Why, in a country of such vast wealth and prosperity, do we have such high amounts of misery?

Why, after all the years of talk and reflection, is race still a most pressing issue in America?

This is not an easy question to answer and has many paths down which your thoughts and ideas can travel. I would suggest taking out a piece of paper and begin by outlining (even drawing) various connections to the fundamental question. Look at this question holistically - perhaps considering the issues from biological, sociological, economical, historical, and even religious perspectives.

Chapter Ten - Sex and Gender

When it comes to sex and gender issues, much of the discussions seem to focus on issues of equality. Everyone involved with the key issues usually has no problem agreeing with the ideals being expressed - like "equality for everyone!". For this assignment, I would like to flip things a bit by coming up with a detailed response to the following question:

Why should equality NOT be thought of as a preferred outcome when it comes to the sexes?

As with the question about race, you may wish to approach this topic from various angles, disciplines and perspectives
