I was diagnosed with herpes hsv 2 six months ago and have had at least seven outbreaks since. I have been taking vitamin d, vitamin c and lysine tablets but nothing seems to help. Was now considering taking acycloviar as a suppressive twice a day like my doctor advised me to. Just wondering will this affect my health in the long run? I've heard it's better to not take medication and let your body build up it's own defence is this correct? When do the outbreaks slow down help?
